Russia blacklists journalist, online project as foreign agents

Russia’s Justice Ministry has expanded its register of foreign agents, adding journalist Mikhail Shevelev and the online project “Anarchist-35” to the list.

The ministry announced the additions on its website.

According to the ministry, Shevelev disseminated what it described as inaccurate information concerning decisions and policies of the Russian authorities.

The ministry also alleged that Shevelev participated in distributing messages and materials produced by foreign agents and contributed to materials created by an organization listed in Russia’s foreign agents register and on the list of foreign organizations whose activities have been deemed undesirable in the country.
