Moscow says fighter jets supplied by NATO to Ukraine to be legitimate target for Russian troops

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said that the fighter jets supplied by NATO countries to Ukraine will be a legitimate target for the Russian military.

"For the Russian Armed Forces, fighter jets participating in the conflict on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, no matter where they fly from, will be a legitimate target for destruction," Zakharova said at a briefing, referring to the expected deliveries of US F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, TASS reports.

According to the diplomat, the deliveries of fighter jets to Ukraine will lead to an increase in the risks of a direct military clash between Russia and NATO.
