The Turkish-developed BORAN 105mm lightweight howitzer, produced by the state-owned defence firm MKE, has demonstrated its formidable capabilities during a live-fire display in Malaysia, where it achieved an impressive rate of fire.

According to Türkiye’s defence industry news platform SavunmaSanayiST.com, the BORAN successfully delivered 12 rounds in just 46 seconds, underscoring its rapid deployment and high rate of fire under operational conditions, Caliber.Az reports.

Designed specifically for mobility in challenging terrains, the BORAN howitzer is tailored for use by mobile artillery units requiring swift manoeuvrability and responsive fire support.

Its compact structure and lightweight design make it suitable for air transport and rapid deployment, while maintaining robust firepower and accuracy in a wide range of environments.

The system is intended to provide agile and reliable artillery support to ground forces, with operational effectiveness in both conventional and asymmetrical combat scenarios. Its performance in Malaysia reflects its adaptability to diverse climatic and geographic conditions.
