Armenia’s high petrol prices leave neighbors in dust, report finds
Armenia has emerged as the country with the most expensive petrol in the region, KSA Expats data for April 2025 confirmed.
The findings place Armenia 94th globally in terms of petrol prices, with a litre of fuel costing $1.343, Caliber.Az reports.
In comparison, Georgia boasts a considerably lower fuel price of $1.117 per litre (ranked 57th globally), while Azerbaijan offers petrol at a more economical $0.647 per litre (17th place). Türkiye ranks 67th place with $1.173 per litre, and Iran stands out for having one of the world’s lowest prices, at just $0.029 per litre, securing the 2nd position globally.
Globally, the cheapest petrol can be found in Libya, where a litre costs just $0.027, according to the report.
The high petrol prices in Armenia reflect broader regional differences in fuel costs, which are influenced by factors such as local production, government subsidies, and international oil market fluctuations.
