Weighing 454 kg, the TEBER-83-equipped bomb combines the destructive power of the Mk-83 with advanced targeting precision. The munition is approximately three meters long and 36 centimetres in diameter, containing around 202 kg of Tritonal explosive—an 80/20 blend of TNT and aluminium powder known for its high blast effect.
The range of the TEBER-83 varies depending on the launch altitude and speed, enabling the AKINCI to strike from standoff distances with high accuracy. The bomb is particularly effective against reinforced structures, such as bunkers, warehouses, bridges, and other critical infrastructure.
The high destructive potential of the Mk 83 makes it one of the most effective bombs, especially when combined with modern guidance systems.
These bombs are also known as bunker busters, as they can hit both concrete and metal.
