Iranian Air Force chief urges innovation as nation faces challenging period Amid Israeli tensions
Commander of the Iranian Air Force Hamid Vahedi addressed growing concerns over the country’s defence readiness amid rising tensions with Israel.
Speaking at a ceremony, Vahedi responded to recent Israeli threats by emphasizing that Iran's fighter jets are equipped with domestically produced long-range ammunition, advanced equipment, and missiles, highlighting the nation's military self-sufficiency, Caliber.Az reports citing Iranian media.
Vahedi made it clear that Iran’s Armed Forces would defend the country “with all its might,” reaffirming the commitment of the Iranian military to its defence capabilities. He added that the country is currently navigating a particularly challenging period and requires officers with both dedication and specialized expertise to meet the demands of this critical time.
“Science in the world is moving at the speed of light, and we should not lag behind,” Vahedi stressed, underscoring the importance of innovation and technological advancement in maintaining military readiness. His comments reflect Iran's ongoing focus on strengthening its defence infrastructure and advancing its indigenous military technologies in the face of external threats.
The Iranian Air Force Commander’s remarks come amidst heightened tensions in the region, with Israel warning of potential military action against Iranian interests, particularly in response to Tehran's nuclear and missile programs. Despite these challenges, Iran has consistently emphasized its determination to safeguard its sovereignty through the development of domestic military technologies and the readiness of its armed forces.
