Azerbaijani Navy enhances capabilities by integrating into Turkish model

In accordance with the training plan for the current year, a conference is being organised on the development of the capabilities and capacities of the Azerbaijani Naval Forces (Navy).

At the conference, first a minute of silence was observed to honour the memory of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who gave their lives for the sovereignty, territorial integrity of our Motherland and freedom of our lands, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defence.

Welcoming the conference participants, Captain 1st Rank Teymur Murshudov spoke about the work done to adapt the Navy, as well as other units of the Azerbaijani army, to the Turkish model. It was noted that within the framework of the ongoing reforms it is envisaged to create a staff structure that meets modern requirements, conduct various exercises and courses to further improve the professionalism of servicemen.

Captain 1st Rank T. Murshudov stressed that the main purpose of the conference is to organise the work on modernisation and restructuring of the Navy more efficiently and effectively.

It was noted that the conference will discuss the legal status of the Caspian Sea and regional conflicts, the organisation of service, operational and combat training of naval personnel and other topical issues.

Briefings on several topical topics on "Naval Operations" were then presented and opinions were exchanged.
