Former MP: Armenian PM loses West’s support
REGION 12 April 2024 - 12:51
Armenian former MP Vardan Khachatryan has said that proceeding from the recent visits, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has lost the West’s support.
“The Armenian current government is unacceptable to the West. So, the West rejected it. Pashinyan should have taken some actions for the West, but he did not do. So, the process of pleasing two opposing sides is never forgiven,” Khachatryan told journalists, Caliber.Az reports.
“Brussels allocated some funds that cannot change anything. The incomprehensible enthusiastic propaganda of the Armenian authorities is also surprising. The Armenian officials shouldn't have gone to Brussels at all, because Europe doesn't decide anything, Europe is under US control. This is its sacred duty to follow its interests, while Armenia is beyond these interests,” he noted.
Khachatryan noted that the Europeans, through Pashinyan, demonstrated obvious segregation, a policy of forced isolation towards the Armenian people. The West is simply serving its interests.
“It is difficult to say whom the West will rely on. Everyone feels changes, but when it turns out that there are problems with the society, the West will make important decisions. [Georgian ex-president] Mikheil Saakashvili and [Russia’s opposition leader] Alexei Navalny can be cited as examples, namely, heinous criminal charges had been brought against Navalny while Saakashvili was banned from entering the US,” he added.
