COP29 to create great opportunities for Azerbaijan – ex-envoy

    POLITICS  23 April 2024 - 20:50

Negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia without mediators are a huge step.

Former British Ambassador to Azerbaijan James Sharp, who participated in the international forum on "COP29 and Green Vision for Azerbaijan" organized at ADA University, said, Report says.

He assessed the process of normalization of relations between the parties as a positive step.

"The countries are negotiating with each other directly, without intermediaries. This is a huge step. Russian peacekeepers are also leaving Karabakh. This is also a very positive development. We hope that there will also be a mechanism for permanent direct contact between the sides."

Sharp also noted his country's support for COP29.

"The holding of COP29 will create great opportunities for Azerbaijan. It is at the same time a great responsibility".
