AFU drones target energy facilities and oil depot in Crimea photo
On the morning of October 29, explosions and fires were reported across various parts of temporarily occupied Crimea, as Ukrainian forces (AFU) carried out drone strikes on key energy infrastructure and at least one oil depot, according to RBC-Ukraine, citing the Telegram channel “Crimean Wind.”
At 06:46 local time, a powerful explosion was reported in Gvardeysk. The ATAN oil depot, which had previously been attacked on October 17 and burned for several days, caught fire again. A few hours later, monitoring groups indicated that the blaze at the oil facility was visible even from space.
Simultaneously, a significant fire broke out near the state district power plant (CHPP) in Simferopol.

Initially, the Telegram channel reported that the Simferopol CHPP, formerly known as GRES, was burning in the settlement of Gresovsky.
“The electrical capacity of the CHPP is 100 MW, heat capacity 490.1 Gcal/h. Annual electricity generation is 600 million kWh, heat – 300 thousand Gcal/h,” the publication noted.
However, subscribers later clarified that the fire was not at the CHPP itself but at a facility located next to the oil depot in Simferopol.

Sergey Aksyonov, the so-called Governor of Crimea, officially confirmed the drone attacks. On social media, he wrote that an unknown drone had struck a tank containing fuel and lubricants in Simferopol, igniting a large fire.
