Armenia, Kazakhstan to boost military intelligence cooperation
Armenia and Kazakhstan are preparing to sign a landmark agreement on military intelligence cooperation.
The proposal to formalize the agreement was approved during a government meeting, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
The accord will allow the two countries to exchange information on military and political developments of mutual interest, including intelligence related to countering terrorist and extremist groups. It also outlines joint programs to train personnel from the relevant defence agencies.
The agreement explicitly prohibits either party from sharing the exchanged information with third parties.
A briefing note accompanying the proposal emphasized the high level of cooperation and dialogue between the defence ministries of Armenia and Kazakhstan. Regular consultations and reciprocal ministerial visits, the note said, demonstrate both countries’ commitment to strengthening and deepening bilateral military ties.
