Armenia PM urges defined responsibilities in TRIPP project
Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, said the scope of the TRIPP project must be clearly defined, emphasising the need to delineate responsibilities between the parties involved.
According to Caliber.Az, citing Armenian media, Pashinyan made the remarks during a conversation with journalists on April 30.
He reiterated that the project предусматривает the construction of a railway.
“Therefore, there must be a clear boundary to clarify the areas of responsibility for Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Pashinyan added.
The issue of restoring regional connectivity gained renewed momentum following a summit hosted by Donald Trump at the White House on August 8, 2025. The meeting brought together Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan, and Pashinyan.
During those talks, the two leaders initialled a draft peace agreement and signed a joint declaration committing to the normalisation of relations, while also mutually recognising each other’s territorial integrity.
A key element of the discussions was the proposed creation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), a US-developed transit corridor expected to run through Armenia’s southern territory. The route is intended to connect mainland Azerbaijan with its Nakhchivan exclave and enhance broader regional connectivity.
