Armenian Church calls for premier’s ousting
Armenian Archbishop Mikael Ajapahian has said that a military coup is required to overthrow the Armenian government.
“I also spoke about this during the 44-day Second Garabagh War, when this sick, drunken man declared that no one should doubt his ability as the supreme commander-in-chief that a military coup was required. Afterward, he also said that a military coup was required. However, we have no army, no generals who could take the necessary steps to save statehood and Garabagh. They didn’t do this and they are responsible for this,” Ajapahian told Oragir.news, Caliber.Az reports.
“They have more blame than this sick man. After all, this man is a nonentity. It was clear from the first days and months where he was leading the country. Didn’t the generals know and couldn’t interfere? Could not the National Security Service have interfered? What constitutional system, constitution are you talking about? Is the constitution, a piece of paper, more important than the security of the country? Should you save the country or a piece of paper? They saved only themselves,” he noted.
“Reverend Vazgen once said “it’s good that we are Armenians”, now I have doubts about it. What a misfortune it is to be an Armenian,” the Archbishop added.
