Armenian official: Even worst negotiations with Azerbaijan more desirable than hostilities
The work of the bilateral Armenian-Azerbaijani Delimitation Commission should be continued.
Armenian Deputy Defense Minister Arman Sargsyan told the Armenian edition of Radio Liberty when asked if the talks will be continued amid tension on the border, Caliber.Az reports.
It was announced that the next meeting of the commission will be held this week in Moscow, but Arman Sargsyan, who is a member of the commission, did not give a specific date for the meeting. He is only confident that the meeting will take place.
"Naturally, the work of the commission should continue, because negotiations are the best solution in every sense, that is, even the worst negotiations are more desirable than hostilities," he said.
Neither Armenian Deputy Defense Minister Arman Sargsyan nor Deputy Director of the National Security Service (NSS) Aram Hakobyan, who came to the parliament to participate in the discussion of last year's budget implementation, gave any specific answer on which maps the Armenian side is going to negotiate with Azerbaijan.
"These are issues that need to be discussed. There was one meeting, during which they discussed organizational issues, follow-up actions, in particular, that any general discussion to be announced will certainly be said," said Arman Sargsyan.
"They will work on various maps, on all of them," in turn, said Aram Hakobyan.
