Attack in Syria’s As-Suwayda: Security personnel killed
On May 7, Syrian security forces were targeted in an armed attack while returning from Daraa to As-Suwayda.
According to a source from the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), a convoy from the Syrian General Security Service was transporting residents who had been injured in recent clashes in the city of As-Sawra, per Caliber.Az.
These individuals were being brought back to the Suwayda province for continued medical treatment.
The convoy came under attack by militants affiliated with the so-called "Military Council." The ambush was deliberately planned and resulted in the deaths of two security personnel and the injury of four others.
Syrian authorities view this escalation as an attempt to undermine an agreement with Druze leaders and destabilise the region.
