British deputy PM David Lammy arrives in Ukraine
British Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Secretary David Lammy arrived in Ukraine on January 16 for an official visit, the Ukrainian Embassy in London confirmed.
The visit coincides with the first anniversary of the UK–Ukraine Centennial Partnership Agreement, according to Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Caliber.Az reports.
The agreement was signed on January 16, 2025, building on a bilateral security agreement concluded in January 2024. Ukraine’s parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, ratified the document on September 17, and it entered into force on October 15, 2025.
“I am pleased to welcome Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom David Lammy to Ukraine,” Zaluzhnyi wrote on X. “This visit is another testament to the intensive cooperation between our countries, the central element of which was the signing of the One Hundred Year Partnership Agreement. This happened exactly a year ago."

As part of the visit, Ukrainian and British officials are jointly hosting the 100-Year Partnership Forum, which will focus on defining the practical content of future bilateral cooperation. Discussions are expected to cover a wide range of areas, including economic cooperation, post-war recovery, education, and security.
Zaluzhnyi emphasised that security cooperation will remain a key priority within the long-term partnership between Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
