Azerbaijan, Georgia deepen partnership: Key talks focus on economic, diplomatic cooperation

Azerbaijani Consul General in Batumi, Fuad Azizov, held productive discussions with Tornike Rijvadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, regarding the prospects for bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia.

The meeting centered on the outcomes of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze's recent visit to Baku and his subsequent meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.

They also reviewed the agreements made during the 10th session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the two nations.

Rijvadze commended Azerbaijan for allocating land for the construction of a new Georgian embassy building in Baku, highlighting the enduring strength of the bilateral relationship.

In turn, Consul General Azizov reaffirmed that Azerbaijan and Georgia consistently support each other in a variety of spheres, underscoring the deep and mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries.

In a separate meeting with Batumi Mayor Archil Chikovani, Consul General Azizov discussed the expansion of twinning ties between the Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan and Georgia’s Batumi. They explored opportunities to increase reciprocal visits and further develop economic cooperation, particularly focusing on the growing presence of Azerbaijani companies in the city.

The officials also touched upon the collaborative efforts between the botanical gardens of Batumi and Azerbaijan, indicating another area of cultural and environmental cooperation between the two nations.
