Azerbaijan may assist Iran on-ground in investigating deadly embassy attack

Kamran Aliyev, Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, has commented on the armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran in January of this year.

According to him, all participants, orderers, and perpetrators of the armed attack on the Azerbaijani diplomatic corps in Iran must be held accountable.

“In this regard, we are already preparing a request for legal assistance to the Iranian side together with the State Security Service. This request will be sent, and if necessary, employees of our prosecutor's office and the State Security Service will be sent there [Iran]," Aliyev said in an interview with the local REAL TV channel.

He added that the circumstances of the armed attack show that the criminal was not alone and the crime was pre-arranged.
