Azerbaijan’s president discuss prospects of cooperation with new Dutch ambassador PHOTO
On October 16, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Netherlands to Azerbaijan, Marianne de Jong, and discussed prospects for cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, President Aliyev highlighted the existence of strong prospects for cooperation, Caliber.Az reports, citing the president's official website.
Recalling his meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in Copenhagen, Aliyev emphasised that various aspects of the partnership were discussed during that meeting, and an agreement was reached to strengthen cooperation in multiple areas.
The head of state also pointed out that Dutch companies currently operate in various sectors in Azerbaijan and expressed hope that their number would increase in the future.
Thanking him for the reception, the ambassador conveyed greetings from King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands to Ilham Aliyev. The president expressed his gratitude and asked that his greetings be conveyed to the King and the Prime Minister of the Netherlands.
Marianne de Jong stated that the Netherlands intends to develop close political and economic cooperation with Azerbaijan and expressed confidence that this collaboration would be mutually beneficial.
