Azerbaijan to soon launch year "Shusha - Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2023"

The official inauguration of the year "Shusha - Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2023" will take place in March 2023.

It was included in the event plan for declaring Shusha the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World for 2023, which was approved by Prime Minister Ali Asadov, Report informs.

The event is organised by the ministries of culture and foreign affairs, the special representative office of Azerbaijan's president in the Shusha district, and the Shusha State Reserve Administration.

Moreover, Azerbaijan will develop a mobile application and e-map of the city of Shusha this year.

There are also plans to create the portal "The Capital of the Turkic World - Shusha", Internet resources, and cartographic materials, as well as prepare postage stamps and commemorative badges.

The mentioned projects were tasked to be implemented by the digital development and transport, culture ministries and the Shusha State Nature Reserve Administration.

In addition to the listed steps, the International Scouting Camp "Shusha Wonderland 2023" will be organised in Shusha this year, with the Youth and Sports Ministry, the special representative office of Azerbaijan's president in the Shusha district and the Shusha State Nature Reserve Administration as executive bodies.

Furthermore,  as part of the action plan, a meeting of diaspora youth of the Turkic world will be held in Shusha in September 2023.

The event will be organised by the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora, the special representative office of Azerbaijan's president in the Shusha district and the Shusha State Nature Reserve Administration.

Moreover, this year it is planned to hold literary and artistic events in Shusha with the participation of famous poets and writers. The festival is planned to be held in July-September.

Furthermore, within the framework of the Vagif Poetry Days, poets from TURKSOY member countries are expected to meet, an exhibition dedicated to the 190th anniversary of Mir Mohsun Navvab Karabagi, the presentation of the catalogue book "Collection of Weapons of Mir Mohsun Navvab Karabagi," and the organization of the literary event "Majlisi-uns" are expected.

The events are organised by the Culture Ministry, the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, the special representative office of Azerbaijan's president in the Shusha district and the Shusha State Nature Reserve Administration.
