Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan hail importance of documents for developing strategic cooperation
Speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament Sahiba Gafarova, who is on a working visit to Uzbekistan, met with Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis (parliament) of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva on September 7.
During the meeting, Narbaeva informed about the preparatory work for the 14th Summit of Women Speakers of Parliaments, which will start in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent city on September 8, and thanked the speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament for participating in the event, the Press and Public Relations Department of the Azerbaijani Parliament told Report.
While expressing gratitude for the sincere words and high hospitality, Gafarova noted the dynamic development of relations between the two friendly and fraternal countries.
While emphasising the role and mutual visits of the presidents in the development of Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations, Gafarova noted the importance of the state visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Uzbekistan in June 2022 and the signed documents in terms of developing strategic cooperation between the two countries.
Gafarova expressed gratitude for the construction of a secondary school by Uzbekistan in Fuzuli city, liberated from occupation.
The views on other issues of mutual interest were exchanged during the meeting.
