Azerbaijani border guards intercept marijuana smugglers
In a recent operation, Azerbaijani border guards successfully intercepted a smuggling attempt involving 17 kilograms of marijuana.
The incident, which took place at the "Goradiz" border detachment of the State Border Guard Service at 2:40 on July 16, led to the apprehension of Rasulov Kamil Sattar oglu (born in 1984), a Gazakh district resident attempting to transport narcotics from Iran into Azerbaijan, the service told Caliber.Az.
Following operational search measures jointly conducted by the State Border Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to identify and apprehend other members of an organized criminal group involved in narcotics smuggling, residents of Garadagh district Iskenderov Elchin Aliaga oglu (born in 1982), Iskenderov Guliaga Aliaga oglu (born in 1985), and Sariyev Taleh Babakerim oglu (born in 1989) were detained in Baku city.
Operational and investigative activities are ongoing.
