Azerbaijani, Pakistani leaders reaffirm strong partnership in Khankendi talks PHOTO
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed their countries’ strong and growing partnership during a bilateral meeting held in Khankendi on the sidelines of the 17th Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) Summit.
During the meeting on July 4, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised Azerbaijan for its successful organisation of the ECO summit and commended Baku’s active role in strengthening the organisation. He expressed appreciation for the continued development of brotherly relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The Pakistani Prime Minister also recalled with satisfaction his visit to Lachin in May and the trilateral meeting held between Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Pakistan. He highlighted the large-scale reconstruction and development efforts underway in the Karabakh region, including in the city of Khankendi, and stressed the strong momentum in bilateral ties across political, economic, trade, investment, and energy sectors.
President Aliyev thanked Prime Minister Sharif for accepting the invitation to attend the summit and welcomed Pakistan’s support for Azerbaijan on various international platforms. The Azerbaijani leader also fondly recalled the trilateral meeting in Lachin, emphasising the importance of deepening strategic cooperation among the three nations.
The two leaders expressed satisfaction with the growing partnership between Azerbaijan and Pakistan and held discussions on regional developments and cooperation within international organisations.
