Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended a number of the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremonies in Shusha on May 9.
President Ilham Aliyev opened the Innovative Technologies Center of Shusha Electric Networks owned by “Azerishig” OJSC, and unveiled the board with the “Ataturk Street” sign, Azertag reports.
The head of state was informed of the work to be done in the streets of Garabagh and Sadigjan.
President Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation stone for a non-residential building on Garabagh Street and opened the plaques at the intersection of the streets of Molla Panah Vagif and Panahali Khan.

The facilities built at the Innovative Technologies Center of the Electric Networks included different capacity transformers, a new 35 kV substation. Electric equipment, electronic-type protective relay, SCADA dispatch control systems were set up in the Center with an electric car charging station and solar panels installed.

A residential building to be built on Garabagh Street occupies a total area of 5,400 square meters. The 4-storey residential building will feature 25 two-room and 6 three-room apartments. The non-residential building in the street covers a total area of 5,745 square meters. It will have A and B blocks and an office centre.

During the years when the city of Shusha was under occupation, the tomb of Mir Mohsun Navvab Garabaghi in the Jidir Duzu plain was completely destroyed by the Armenians. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation has started restoration works in the area this March. The tombstone of Mir Mohsun Navvab Garabaghi, one of the most prominent personalities of the nineteenth century in Azerbaijan, poet, painter, calligrapher, music theorist, scientist-encyclopedist, has been restored.
