President Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan leads global push for civil defence
Azerbaijan places high importance on international cooperation in civil defence, President Ilham Aliyev said.
President Aliyev made the remarks in his message to participants at the third extraordinary session of the International Civil Defence Organization’s General Assembly, currently underway in Baku, Caliber.Az reports.
The head of state emphasised that hosting this session in Azerbaijan highlights the country’s commitment to global security, reducing the risk of emergencies, and issues of civil defence.
The president noted that Azerbaijan, as a responsible member of the international community, actively participates in the development and implementation of global initiatives aimed at protecting human life, preserving the environment, and safeguarding infrastructure.
Ilham Aliyev stated that several significant international events held in Azerbaijan—specifically last year’s COP29 conference and the upcoming World Cities Forum scheduled for next year—serve the purpose of addressing humanity’s most pressing challenges, mitigating their consequences, and strengthening global solidarity as a whole.
