Snap parliamentary elections conclude in Azerbaijan
The early parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan have officially concluded. Voting took place across 125 electoral districts nationwide, with polling stations opening at 08:00 and closing by 19:00.

Voting has ended for the early elections to the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan and the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Polling stations closed at 19:00 local time.
A total of 990 candidates competed for 125 seats in the Milli Majlis, while 187 candidates vied for seats in the Supreme Majlis.
To ensure citizens could exercise their right to vote, 6,478 polling stations were established across 125 electoral districts. Azerbaijan has a total of 6,421,960 registered voters.
Notably, these elections were the first parliamentary elections to be held across the entire sovereign territory of Azerbaijan. In Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, where over 42,000 voters are registered, 54 polling stations were established.

At the snap parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, the highest voter turnout was recorded in Khankendi constituency #122, and the lowest - in Mingachevir constituency #54.
By 15:00 in Khankendi constituency 42.7% of voters (2,834 people) had voted.
In the Mingachevir constituency, by 15:00, the turnout was 12.8% (6,447 people), the lowest in the country.

Voter turnout at the extraordinary parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan at 15:00 amounted to 29.49 per cent, the number of voters who voted amounted to 1,893,555 people.
In the snap parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, the highest voter turnout was observed in Khankendi constituency No. 122, said the head of the information centre of the Secretariat of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Farid Orujov at a press conference.
He noted that by 12:00, voter turnout in this constituency was 32.6%. Some 2,182 people exercised their right to vote, Caliber.Az reports.
According to him, 25.85% of voters voted in Aghdam-Khojaly constituency No. 118, 26.33% in Aghdam constituency No. 119, 27.28% in Jabrayil-Gubadli constituency No. 120, 23.85% in Lachin constituency No. 121, 32.6% in Khankendi constituency No. 122, 25.7% in Kalbajar constituency, 25.74% in Shusha-Aghdam-Khojavend constituency No. 124, and 28.2% in Zangilan-Gubadli constituency No. 125.

Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov said that three international organizations have registered to conduct exit-poll: the Center for Sociological Research, the League for the Protection of Labor Rights of Citizens in cooperation with the American company ORACLE ADVISORY GROUP, and the Public Association for Social Research “Progress” in cooperation with the Italian research company SWG S.P.A..

Polls have opened in Azerbaijan's snap parliamentary elections. A total of 990 candidates are vying for 125 seats in the Milli Majlis.
Across the republic, 6,478 polling stations have been set up to accommodate the 6,421,960 registered voters, Caliber.Az reports via the Central Electoral Commission.
Notably, 51,141 citizens will be casting their votes for the first time in the elections. The Central Election Commission has printed 6,516,567 ballot papers to ensure a smooth voting process.
According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), 112,749 local observers and 589 international observers from 51 international organizations and 69 countries have been registered for the elections.
President Ilham Aliyev called for the snap elections on June 28, 2024. The polls will remain open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time.
Following Azerbaijan’s Election Code, the election campaign commenced on August 9, 2024, and officially paused 24 hours before the voting began, respecting the election silence period.
The elections have attracted participation from 25 political parties, with candidates represented across the ballots. With nearly a thousand candidates, the competition for the parliamentary seats is expected to be intense.
