Bahrain arrests six over social media posts on Iranian aggression PHOTO
The Ministry of Interior of Bahrain announced that the Anti-Cybercrime Directorate at the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption, Economic and Electronic Security has identified and arrested six Asian nationals for filming, publishing, or reposting video clips related to the aftermath of Iranian aggression.
The individuals were accused of expressing sympathy with these hostile acts in a manner that undermines security and public order, BNA reports.
According to the ministry, the clips were circulated through the suspects’ social media accounts, contributing to the spread of misleading information and causing fear among citizens and residents.
The ministry confirmed that “the necessary legal procedures have been taken” and that the suspects have been referred to the Public Prosecution.
Authorities also urged the public to obtain information from official sources and to refrain from circulating or reposting unreliable videos or news. The ministry emphasized that doing so would help safeguard the security and safety of the Kingdom while avoiding legal accountability.
