Bahrain intercepts record number of drones, ballistic missiles from Iran
The Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) General Command announced that its air defence systems have successfully intercepted successive waves of Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom. Since the onset of hostilities, BDF forces have destroyed 102 ballistic missiles and 171 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) aimed at Bahrain, BNA reports.
“The exceptional combat readiness and operational excellence demonstrated by our personnel throughout this period is commendable,” the BDF General Command said, affirming that Bahrain’s airspace remains protected.
The public has been urged to remain indoors and venture outside only when absolutely necessary, taking all precautionary measures. Citizens are advised to avoid affected areas and any suspicious objects, refrain from filming military operations or debris sites, avoid spreading unverified information, and rely solely on official sources for updates and advisories.
The General Command emphasized that targeting civilian sites and private property with ballistic missiles and UAVs constitutes a clear violation of international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter. “These indiscriminate attacks represent a direct threat to regional peace and security,” the statement added.
