Bahrain says air defences intercept over 280 Iranian missiles, drones
The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) said its air defence systems have intercepted successive waves of Iranian attacks, destroying more than 280 missiles and drones since the start of hostilities.
In a statement, the BDF said its forces had intercepted and destroyed 106 ballistic missiles and 177 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched toward the Kingdom of Bahrain, Caliber.Az reports via Bahrain's media.
The military command praised what it called the “exceptional combat readiness and operational excellence” of its personnel, adding that Bahrain’s airspace remains secure.
Authorities urged residents to remain indoors and leave their homes only when absolutely necessary, taking all required precautions. The public was advised to avoid affected areas and suspicious objects, refrain from filming military operations or debris sites, and rely solely on official sources for information rather than circulating unverified reports.
The General Command said the targeting of civilian sites and private property with ballistic missiles and UAVs constitutes a violation of international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter.
It added that the attacks pose a direct threat to regional peace and security.
