Bashkortostan refinery hit by Ukrainian Security Service drone strike
In the morning of October 11, long-range drones deployed by the Centre for Special Operations “A” of the Security Service of Ukraine carried out a targeted attack on the Bashneft-UNPZ oil refinery in Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan, approximately 1,400 kilometres from Ukraine.
Sources within the Security Service told UNIAN that Ufa is one of the largest oil refining hubs in the Russian Federation, supplying fuel and lubricants to the armed forces.
Following the explosions on the refinery premises, firefighting teams were dispatched to the scene, with a column of black smoke reportedly rising above the facility.
Preliminary information indicates that the drone strike specifically hit the area of the crude oil refining unit ELOU-AVT-6, triggering the fire.
