Belarus leader predicts end to Ukraine, Iran conflicts in 2026
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has expressed optimism that the conflicts in Ukraine and involving Iran could be brought to an end in 2026.
Speaking in an interview with the Saudi television channel Al Arabiya, Lukashenko was asked whether there was hope for achieving peace in the ongoing conflicts.
“The world is very unsettled right now because of the human factor. These wars were not given to us by God. We brought this upon ourselves. Therefore, we must also think about how to end these wars,” Lukashenko said, Belarusian state news agency BelTA reports.
The Belarusian leader argued that current circumstances present a significant opportunity for resolving major regional conflicts.
“Regarding the question of whether it is possible to stop these wars, especially here in our region—and in your region as well, in the Middle East, where you work—the answer is yes. More than ever before, we have an opportunity to bring these wars to an end,” he said.
