Berlin, Warsaw agree to deploy Patriot missile defense systems in Poland
Polish Minister of Defense Mariusz Blaszczak wrote on his Twitter page that Berlin and Warsaw had reached an agreement to deploy Patriot missile defense systems in the country.
According to the minister, Poland will deploy Patriot missile defense systems after Germany refused to deploy them in Ukraine. The proposal to deploy missile defense systems in Poland came from the German side after a missile fell on Polish territory.
On December 6 evening Blaszczak tweeted that he was disappointed after talking with his German colleague Christina Lambrecht. However, the two countries managed to reach an agreement on the deployment of missiles in Poland.
“So, we are starting work on deploying launchers in Poland and connecting them to our control system,” Blaszczak said.
