Biden wins North Dakota Democratic presidential primary
US President Biden has secured victory in the North Dakota Democratic presidential primary, as projected by Decision Desk HQ.
This win adds to Biden's delegate count after he already mathematically clinched the Democratic nomination earlier this month, Caliber.Az reports, citing The Hill.
The primary in North Dakota saw 13 pledged delegates up for grabs, with the majority of voting conducted through mail-in ballots.
Notably, Biden had previously lost the state during the 2020 Democratic nominating process to Senator Bernie Sanders. North Dakota, a reliably red state, has consistently voted for former President Trump in both the 2016 and 2020 general elections by significant margins.
While Biden was the only major candidate on the primary ballot, he faced opposition from minor candidates including author Marianne Williamson and entrepreneur Jason Palmer.
