Bodies of 18 victims recovered after Turkish military plane vrash in Georgia
Authorities in Georgia have recovered the bodies of 18 people following the crash of a Turkish Air Force C-130 military transport aircraft.
Georgian Interior Minister Gela Geladze confirmed the toll at the crash site, adding that the search was continuing for the remains of two others, Caliber.Az reports per Haber 7.
Geladze said an international search and rescue team had been formed and was working in constant coordination with Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs. Turkish personnel joined the operation and remained at the site throughout the night, he added.
The minister noted that, because the aircraft was military, further details about the investigation would be provided jointly with Turkish authorities.
On November 11, 2025, a Turkish C-130 military transport aircraft crashed in Georgia while flying from Azerbaijan to Türkiye. The plane was carrying 20 members of the Turkish Armed Forces, including technical service personnel. All on board were killed in the crash.
The crash occurred in mountainous terrain near Georgia's Signagi town. Prior to departure, the aircraft had spent approximately two hours at Ganja airport in Azerbaijan, with no recorded technical issues. Following the crash, search and recovery teams from both Türkiye and Georgia have been working at the site, recovering wreckage and investigating the incident.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined, with investigators examining possible technical faults, weather conditions, or other contributing factors.
