Armenian PM says first export deal with Azerbaijan completed
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated that the first export deal from Armenia to Azerbaijan has already been concluded.
Speaking at a briefing, he said the companies themselves will announce it, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
“The first deal — an export from Armenia to Azerbaijan — has already been completed,” he noted.
Azerbaijan and Armenia are gradually restoring trade ties. In January-June 2026, Azerbaijan exported goods worth $17.128 million to Armenia, with indirect imports totalling $960 during the same period, according to the State Customs Committee.
The development followed the August 2025 initialling of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, mediated in Washington, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's announcement in October 2025 on removing barriers to cargo movement toward Armenia as part of wider regional connectivity initiatives, including the TRIPP project.
