Boeing to raise 737 MAX production to 47 jets per month after FAA review
Boeing Co. is preparing to increase production of its 737 MAX aircraft following a successful review by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Bloomberg reports.
The company plans to raise monthly output from the current 42 aircraft to 47 in the coming months, Chief Executive Officer Kelly Ortberg said during a Bernstein conference. Boeing also aims to further ramp up production to 52 aircraft per month early next year, signalling continued recovery in its manufacturing capacity.
The FAA had previously restricted production of the 737 MAX in 2024 after a series of safety-related incidents, citing concerns that Boeing had prioritised output over quality control. In October last year, the regulator lifted the production cap from 38 to 42 aircraft per month after improved oversight and compliance measures were introduced.
