BP unveils spending on Shah Deniz project

Over $1.2 billion operating expenses and about $408 million of capital expenditures were spent on the activities of the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the first half of 2023.

Most of the costs fell on the Shah Deniz-2 project (the second phase of the field development), APA reports referring to the report on operations in Azerbaijan published by BP (project operator) for the first half of 2023.

“In the first half of the year, gas supplies from the Shah Deniz field continued to the markets of Azerbaijan (Azerkontrakt OJSC), Georgia (GOGC Company), Türkiye (BOTAŞ Company), for numerous BTC facilities and buyers in Europe,” the report says.
