Azerbaijan, China boost bilateral trade turnover
Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee has announced that trade turnover between Azerbaijan and China reached nearly $1.77 billion in the first five months of 2025, reflecting a robust 32.3 per cent increase over the same period last year.
The surge was largely driven by a sharp rise in Azerbaijani exports to China, which grew 3.9 times year-on-year to reach $34.7 million from January through May. This boosted China’s share in Azerbaijan’s overall exports to 0.32 per cent, up from just 0.08 per cent in the same period last year, Caliber.Az reports, citing the State Customs Committee.
Imports from China also saw substantial growth, rising 30.6 per cent to total $1.73 billion. Despite the increase, China’s share in Azerbaijan’s total imports saw a slight dip to 17.32 per cent, down from 18.11 per cent in the corresponding period of 2024.
