Canada pledges $72 million in humanitarian aid to Gaza via UN
Canada has announced a substantial contribution of 100 million Canadian dollars (approximately $72 million USD) to the United Nations for humanitarian relief efforts in the Gaza Strip.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney made the announcement on April 25, stating that the funds will be used to procure essential food supplies and support other urgent humanitarian needs for the civilian population in Gaza, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.

“The UN World Food Programme just announced that its food stocks in Gaza have run out because of the Israeli Government’s blockade — food cannot be used as a political tool.
Palestinian civilians must not bear the consequences of Hamas’ terrorist crimes. The World Food Programme must be allowed to resume its lifesaving work.
Canada stands for international law and has recently committed an additional amount of nearly $100 million to support the UN and other trusted international partners in providing food and humanitarian aid.
We will continue to work with our allies towards a permanent ceasefire and the immediate return of all hostages,” Carney posted on his X account.
The pledge comes amid growing international concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the enclave, where access to basic necessities remains severely restricted due to ongoing conflict and blockades. The funds are expected to be distributed through UN agencies working on the ground to ensure rapid and efficient delivery of aid.
