Canada to provide Ukraine with military aid
Canada’s National Defence Minister Bill Blair has said that Canada is set to provide Ukraine with a military aid package worth C$64.8 million ($47 million), which will include small arms, ammunition, and protective gear.
This aid package, which also allocates funds for training Ukrainian troops, is part of a C$500 million military funding pledged by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in July, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
"The military assistance announced today provides Ukraine with important resources needed to defend itself against Russian aggression. Canada will continue to do what it takes to help them achieve victory," Blair stated.
Last month, Canada, a strong supporter of Kyiv on the international stage, also announced the donation of 80,840 surplus small unarmed air-to-surface rockets to Ukraine, along with 1,300 warheads. Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Canada has committed C$4.5 billion in military aid.
