Century-old courthouse collapses in northern Italy during restoration work
A courthouse dating back to the 1920s partially collapsed in the northern Italian city of Bolzano while restoration work was underway.
Approximately a quarter of the building gave way, Caliber.Az reports, citing Italian media.
Because of the early hour, very few people were inside the courthouse at the time of the collapse. Apart from three cleaners, there were almost no staff members or restoration workers on site.
One person suffered minor scratches and bruises.
Emergency services are continuing to inspect the site of the collapse.
"The entire central section of the courthouse is completely unusable. It is still too early to speak about the causes. We will try to resume operations as soon as possible and determine how to redistribute the staff," prosecutor Axel Bisignano said.
