Chicago man charged after threats to kill Trump, his son Barron
A Chicago man has been charged in federal court after allegedly sending threats to kill President Donald Trump and his son, Barron, as well as making additional threats against a Secret Service agent and federal facilities following an investigative visit to his home.
Michael Kovco, 29, has been charged with one count of transmitting threats in interstate commerce, according to court documents, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Prosecutors allege that Kovco sent a message to the official White House website on March 17 in which he threatened to kill the president and his youngest son. The message was reportedly signed with the phrase:
"Mr. I'm going to f***ing kill your child Kovco" and included Kovco's telephone number and email address.
Authorities say that after a Secret Service agent visited Kovco’s home on March 19, he sent another message to the White House website threatening to "hunt" the agent with a gun.
Kovco was arrested last week and is scheduled to appear for a detention hearing at the Dirksen Federal Courthouse in Chicago on April 10.
