Chinese portal reports tense Ukraine talks between Russian, US top diplomats

A tense exchange took place between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio over Ukraine in New York.

The talks were held behind closed doors and lasted about an hour, Caliber.Az reports via the Chinese portal Sohu.

The portal reports that the dialogue was clearly tense.

“U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov ‘clearly clashed’ during their meeting in New York on September 24,” Sohu writes, noting that the discussion focused on the conflict in Ukraine.

No further details were provided.
