COP29 launches the Daily Show TV program
Starting from November 11, a live broadcast of the Daily Show TV program will begin, produced as part of COP29's collaboration with the British broadcasting company Hi Impact.
As reported by Caliber.Az, the 30-minute Daily Show will cover the events of the day at COP29, which will take place in Baku from November 11 to 22 and is expected to be the most significant event of the year. Guests on the show, which will be broadcast in an innovative format, will include world leaders, scientists, public figures, and climate innovators.
Twelve episodes of the Daily Show will be aired daily online in collaboration with 47 television studios across four continents, and millions of viewers will be able to watch the program for free. Additionally, after the daily broadcasts, the episodes will be uploaded to COP29's official YouTube channel and other platforms.
The Daily Show program, being broadcast for the first time in this format, was created in collaboration with the renowned communication agency and broadcasting company Hi Impact. The program reflects COP29's commitment to inclusivity, allowing the international audience who cannot attend the conference in person to follow the events of COP29 in a unique format.
The program, which will be broadcast from a specially created studio in the COP29 Green Zone, will be hosted by Rosanna Lockwood – a journalist and international anchor with extensive experience in news and interview programs on television channels across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. She has hosted programs such as News UK and Prime Time with Rosanna Lockwood.
In addition to prominent figures in the field of climate change, the program will feature guest reporters who are bloggers covering climate issues to engage a younger audience, distant from traditional media. The tone and style of the show are designed to attract viewers from all social groups to the topic of climate change. The main goal of the program is to make sometimes complex and technical climate discussions more accessible to a broad audience.
Moreover, media and broadcasting companies are providing opportunities for the free broadcast of the Daily Show. Companies interested in airing the program can contact via email at partnerships@cop29dailyshow.com.
The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) officially begins today, November 11, in Azerbaijan. The conference, which will run until November 22, is expected to be a landmark event in the global fight against climate change, drawing attention from around the world.
Azerbaijan was selected to host COP29 during the plenary session of COP28 in Dubai on December 11, 2023, due to the country's extensive experience in organizing high-profile international events. Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, will welcome approximately 70,000 international guests, including political leaders, environmental experts, and representatives from the private sector and civil society.
The opening day of COP29 will feature key events and ceremonies, marking the start of the climate discussions. One of the most anticipated parts of the conference is the High-Level Segment of the Climate Action Summit, which will take place on November 12-13. During this segment, around 80 heads of state and government from countries party to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will address the audience, sharing their countries' commitments and strategies for addressing climate change.
The speeches by world leaders will continue throughout November 13, setting the stage for further discussions on policies, solutions, and collaboration in the fight against climate change. COP29 is seen as a critical opportunity for nations to reaffirm their climate goals and strengthen international cooperation.
