Cost of Turkish residence permit for Russians surges to over $600
The cost of obtaining a residence permit in Türkiye for citizens of Russia has increased sharply, rising by nearly 15 times, according to legal experts cited by media reports.
The fee for a one-year residence permit is now more than 28,000 Turkish lira (approximately $620), compared to about 2,000 lira (around $44) previously. For a two-year permit, the total cost has risen to 57,899 lira (about $1,284), up from roughly 6,500 lira (around $144).
“The fee for obtaining a residence permit for two years as of yesterday amounts to 57,899 lira ($1,284) for an adult Russian citizen instead of 6,500 lira ($144). For one year, it exceeds 28,000 lira ($620) instead of 2,000 lira ($44). These figures are now displayed in the application forms submitted by applicants,” legal specialists said.
The total cost includes a residence card issuance fee of 964 lira (about $21), along with the main residence permit charge.
For minors, the fee is approximately 25% lower. A residence permit for a minor Russian citizen now costs more than 29,400 lira (around $637), according to the same sources.
