CSTO to hold exercises in all member states except two countries
Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) Imangali Tasmagambetov has said that the CSTO joint exercises will take place in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan in 2025.
Tasmagambetov made these remarks during a press conference, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
"Every year, we adopt an operational and combat training plan, which includes exercises on various topics and areas. The operational and combat training plan for 2025 has also been approved. The exercises will be held in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan," he said.
He noted that Kyrgyzstan will host the "Rubezh-2025" command-staff exercises and an operational gathering with the command of the Central Asia Collective Rapid Deployment Forces as part of the "Combat Brotherhood — 2025" operational and strategic exercises.
"I must also mention that the Kyrgyz Defence Ministry takes a very responsible approach to conducting such exercises, and I am deeply convinced that the exercises held in Kyrgyzstan in 2025 will also be organised at a very high level," the CSTO secretary general added.
The Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) is a military alliance in Eurasia, established in 2002, comprising six post-Soviet nations: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan. The origins of the CSTO trace back to the Soviet Armed Forces, which were disbanded in 1992 and replaced by the United Armed Forces of the Commonwealth of Independent States. This was later succeeded by the national armed forces of the newly independent states.
