Cyprus detains Russian citizen following US-issued international arrest warrant

Authorities in the southeast coast of Cyprus have detained a 39-year-old Russian citizen who is subject to an international arrest warrant initiated by the United States. 

The news of the arrest was confirmed by the police of the island nation, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.

"During a passport check at Larnaca Airport, a 39-year-old Russian man who arrived in Cyprus on May 22 from abroad was arrested," police stated, without disclosing the detainee’s name.

According to their report, the individual is under an international arrest warrant issued by the competent US authorities.
