Denmark provides mobile workshops, mine-hunting robots and machine guns for Ukraine

The Danish Ministry of Defense has announced a new military aid package worth DKK 1 billion (roughly $140 mln) in support of Ukraine in its war against the Russian Federation.

It includes ammunition for small and heavy arms, anti-tank mines and air defence missiles. The donation was funded by a special fund established by the Danish government, according to the ministry.

"Ukraine lacks ammunition, and the donation package, therefore, contains material that Ukraine has very specifically requested," said Acting Danish Minister of Defense Troels Lund Poulsen.

The package contains:

- 56mm small arms ammunition

- 7mm heavy machine guns

- more anti-tank mines

- spare equipment for 155mm artillery ammunition – propellants, fuzes, instruments

- additional air defence missiles

- 21 mine clearance robots

- 9 mobile workshops for the repair of large military vehicles

- 15 military-use power generators

- 8,000 helmets and 15,000 sets of rainwear

- 6 hangar tents

- DKK 100 million in the procurement of non-lethal equipment via NATO

It is noted that the Danish Army has already begun preparations to hand the equipment over to Ukraine.

In total, the newly created fund for Denmark's aid to Ukraine will provide DKK 5.4 billion worth of military support throughout 2023. It includes "among other things, weapons, other military equipment and training efforts," noted in the official statement by the Danish Ministry of Finance.
