European Commission allows to increase electricity imports to Ukraine
The European Energy Community ENTSO-E has decided to increase the possibility of importing electricity to Ukraine from 700 MW to 850 MW.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the website of the European Commission.
"Just this morning, ENTSO-E has decided to further increase the import capacity from Ukraine to 850 MW from the current 700 MW. This is just one step, but clearly this is progress," European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson said.
According to her, she had a personal meeting with the head of the Ministry of Energy, Herman Halushchenko. It discussed how else the EU could help Ukraine.
Simson talked about a plan to supply solar panels to Ukraine. This would help provide power to hospitals and other civilian infrastructure, "even if temporarily Russia has managed to destroy some grid connections."
