European Commission approves plan for post-war reconstruction of Ukraine
The European Commission has approved a plan for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, and macro-financial assistance worth 9 billion euros.
The statement came from the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, according to RBC-Ukraine.
The plan was developed by the National Council for Post-War Reconstruction. It is this document that the European Union will rely on.
Shmyhal said Ukraine will be the "owner" of the process, and for maximum transparency, and efficiency, it is planned to involve European partners.
The recovery plan contains four main principles: the restoration of all infrastructure to the latest standards and European policies; modernization of the Ukrainian state and institutions; maximum integration of Ukraine with the EU in all spheres and directions; economic transformation, including new opportunities for Ukrainian business.
“We are grateful to the European Commission for the adoption of this document, which demonstrates an extraordinary level of solidarity with our country. We are confident in victory and just as confident that we will rebuild our beautiful Ukraine, which will be a strong and equitable member of the European Union,” Shmyhal added.
